Mind Control Hypnosis

The idea of mind control hypnosis is a common way of talking about hypnotism, but it includes a number of misconceptions. Hypnotism is a proven and effective tool of psychiatrists and psychiatrists in which the power of suggestion is used to influence someone's personality at a deep, subconscious level. When people talk about "mind control hypnosis," however, they usually get the image of a magician or fortune-teller staring into your eyes and forcing your to do something you never would on your own. This notion of hypnotism, however, is completely false and is based on a number of misunderstandings about hypnosis.

First, the very term mind control hypnosis is false. No one can control another person's mind, and especially not with hypnosis. Hypnosis operates by having someone enter a state in which they are particularly receptive to deep, subconscious suggestions about how to act or behave. However, this does not mean that a person will respond to any and every suggestion. It has been shown that people will only act on suggestions that they find acceptable in their everyday lives. In other words, no one can force someone to do something against their will by having them enter a hypnotic state because the suggestions only reinforce behaviors and thoughts that the person already wishes they could have.

Second, mind control hypnosis is often characterized as putting someone under a trance. This is a misunderstanding of what a hypnotic state actually is. In truth, we enter hypnotic trances many times during the day, and it is not as different from our usual awareness as you might think. When we are deeply concentrating or when we are momentarily distracted, we enter the same state used by a professional hypnotist. This is merely a state when our conscious mind is either distracted or relaxed to the point that our subconscious is exposed. There is nothing magical about this state, and, further, we are never unconscious during this state. Hypnosis subjects can usually remember their sessions and simply report feeling incredibly relaxed and at peace, not asleep or confused.

Third, people who talk about mind control hypnosis often treat it as if it is a kind of mystical or magical practice. Nothing could be further from the truth. Hypnosis is simply a way of exploiting how our minds function for our betterment. There is nothing spiritual about hypnotism beyond the spiritual benefits that many people report after their lives have been improved from a session of hypnosis.

It should be clear by now that mind control hypnosis is a fraudulent way of describing a very straightforward psychological practice. It is based on our mind's natural habits of functioning, not on anything devious or mystical. And, further, it cannot be used for devious purposes or for forcing someone to act how another wants them to.
